Easter 2015

St. Luke Passion Gospel Setting and Panel

Composer Sir James MacMillan conducts a new setting of the passage in Luke’s Gospel describing the suffering and death of Jesus. Taking place a year after the premiere of the original St. Luke Passion at Duke Divinity School, the evening’s performance is a key event in the Easter at King’s festival and features the Britten Sinfonia, the Trinity Boys' Choir, and the Schola Cantorum of the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School. The performance is followed by a panel chaired by broadcaster Donald Macleod including composer Sir James MacMillan, Cambridge professor David Ford, Duke Divinity Dean Richard Hays, and DITA Director Jeremy Begbie. A remarkable evening, the performance takes place in King’s College Chapel and is broadcast on the BBC.
