Easter 2022

The Theology, Modernity, and Literature Project

The final facet of the Theology, Modernity, and Arts project, the Theology, Modernity, and Literature project is launched during the 2022 Easter at King’s festival. A group of scholars from Duke and Cambridge meet for a series of panels in Trinity Hall and form the steering committee for the project. Drawing on Micheal O’Siadhail’s Five Quintets, the committee selects four categories of literary publications to investigate through the lens of New Creation and sets publication goals for the project. The TML project is chaired by former archbishop Rowan Williams and Dr. Daniel Train, Associate Director of DITA. Remaining committee members include poet Malcolm Guite, Duke Divinity professor Richard Hays, Cambridge professor David Ford, University of Aberdeen professor Tom Greggs, poet Micheal O’Siadhail, Duke Divinity professor Jennie Grillo, Cambridge professor Janet Soskice, University of Iowa professor Lori Branch, Wesley Seminary assistant professor Devon Abts, Wheaton professor Christina Bieber-Lake, St. Andrews professor Alan Torrance, Baylor University professor David Lyle Jeffrey, and Laity Lodge executive director Steven Purcell.

The Theology, Modernity, and Literature project is made possible by generous funding from the McDonald Agape Foundation.
