Easter 2015

The Theology, Modernity, and the Arts Project

DITA Director Jeremy Begbie explains the genesis of the Theology, Modernity, and Arts project and its relationship to the 2015 Easter at King’s gathering. A panel of scholars from both institutions meet in Trinity Hall to launch the project. Specifically, the steering committee panel formulates the project’s question: How can the arts contribute to the theological narration of modernity, specifically a narration which employs the scriptural account of New Creation in Christ as its guiding integrative vision? Committee members include DITA Director Jeremy Begbie, Duke Divinity professor Greg Jones, Cambridge professor David Ford, Duke Divinity Dean Richard Hays, and poet Micheal O’Siadhail.

The Theology, Modernity, and the Arts project is made possible through generous funding from the McDonald Agape Foundation.
